Ruling BJP trying to split BJD into pieces: Opposition chief whip
The ruling BJP is trying to break BJD into pieces, alleged Chief Whip of the Opposition party and senior BJD leader Pramila Mallick on Tuesday.
BJD leader Mallick’s statement came in the wake of BJD leader and Bari block chairman Ashok Gedi returning to BJD just eleven days after joining the saffron party.
Addressing a press conference in Bhubaneswar, Mallick said, “The ruling party’s all efforts to break BJD into pieces and take Bari block chairman Ashok Gedi to their fold by enticing him with various offers and threatening him went down the drain.”
“The BJP is misusing its power. Instead of thinking about Bari block’s development, from their workers to people representatives all had worked for their own benefits. The BJD is as well organised in the Jajpur district as it used to be earlier. In the coming days it will become stronger,” said Mallick.

“Even the day when I left BJD and joined BJP, I was told that I would work for Bari’s development. After my eleven days in BJP, I realised that no one was serious about Bari’s development. So I returned to my own party BJD,” said Gedi.
