Panic gripped the residents of Khambhari village under Digapahandi block in Ganjam after paw marks reportedly to be of a Royal Bengal tiger were found in the village.

Recently, the residents of Padmapur village located near Ghodahada Dam in Padmapur in the region have also alleged that a Royal Bengal tiger killed a cow in the village.

Acting on the allegations of the villagers, Forest department officials inspected the site and confirmed the presence of tiger paw prints. 

The Digapahandi DFO stated that the department has formed three teams and installed trap cameras in various locations to track the tiger’s movements. He also confirmed that the collected paw prints belong to a Royal Bengal tiger.

As a precautionary measure, officials have advised the villagers to refrain from going out in the evening to ensure their safety.
