The row among the sevayats (temple servitors) at the historic Lingaraj temple in Bhubaneswar has been resolved with the immediate resumption of rituals, informed Khordha district Collector Chanchal Rana on Wednesday evening.

Following a crucial meeting in the afternoon, Rana stated that actions would be taken against the persons who were responsible for the chaos.

He further informed that the Additional District Magistrate (ADM) has been tasked with conducting a thorough investigation into the disruptions that have marred the religious rituals within 24 hours. A report will be compiled promptly, enabling the authorities to take necessary actions.

Following the ADM’s report, individuals identified as disruptive will receive formal show-cause notices. The intent is to ensure accountability and prevent future occurrences of disorder during the sacred Lingaraj puja rituals.

It has been disclosed that those found guilty of causing disturbances will face suspension from participating in the Lingaraj puja services to uphold the sanctity of these spiritual proceedings.
