Alleging irregularities in the conduct of RI, ARI and Amin recruitment examinations conducted by the Odisha Sub-ordinate Staff Selection Commission (OSSSC), scores of students and youth Congress activists on Wednesday staged a massive demonstration in Bhubaneswar.
The activists tried to gherao the Odisha Assembly. However, they were stopped by security personnel at Lower PMG in the capital city. A tussle-like situation was witnessed between the activists and police personnel during the protest.
The activists are demanding the cancellation of the recruitment examination conducted by OSSSC. The protestors alleged that the state government deployed black-listed firms to conduct the examination.
“The previous BJD government used to sell jobs. People changed government. But the new government is also following the footprints of the previous government. The blacklisted firm was chosen for the conduct of the recruitment examinations, “alleged a protestor.
A senior Congress leader said, “Today, the future of aspirants hangs in balance due to the failure of the BJD and BJP government. Why cannot the exam be re-conducted when the government has admitted that there were some lapses? Instead of taking time, the government should immediately take action on the matter.”
