Under the influence of cyclonic circulation over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining north Odisha, a Low Pressure area has formed over the Gangetic West Bengal and neighbourhood. With this synoptic situation, extremely heavy rain and thunderstorm with lightning are very likely to occur over at least four districts in Odisha during the next 24 hours.

This was forecasted by India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre on Sunday. Southwest Monsoon has been active over the State. In its mid-day bulletin, the IMD centre stated, “An associated cyclonic circulation extended upto 7.6 km above mean sea level titling southwestwards with height.”
