A rape surviror killed an elderly man, who allegedly raped her at Kuihuru village under Mohana block in Gajapati district on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Kambi Mallick.
As per reports, Mallick was asleep at his house after allegedly raping the woman. The survivor came there and killed him with a sharp-edged weapon. Subsequently, the woman, along with some other women of the village,e allegedly took the body to the nearby forest and burnt it.
Worries over Mallick’s disappearance grew within his family, who eventually discovered his partially burnt body at night. They promptly informed the local police about the incident.
Police have launched a detailed investigation into the incident.
As the investigation continues, three women, including the survivor, have been detained and are currently being questioned.
As per police sources, they are verifying the details to piece together the events that transpired leading to this tragic incident.

Earlier in April this year, a youth allegedly raped and murdered a minor girl after watching obscene videos. The shocking incident, involving a relative of the victim, took place in the Patapur police limits of Ganjam district.
Subsequently, Patapur police arrested the accused youth, identified as Kalia Nahak, who happens to be a distant relative (uncle) of the deceased minor.
