Ahead of his oath-taking ceremony on Tuesday, the newly-appointed Governor of Odisha, Raghubar Das visited Srimandir in Puri to seek the blessings of Lord Jagannath on Monday.
Speaking to the reporters after having darshan, Das said, “I am happy to get a chance to serve the people of Odisha. Lord Jagannath has been the presiding deity of the people of this State since ages. I sought blessings from the Lord for the poor and downtrodden of this State so that their standard of living grows.”
“I took the blessings of Lord Jagannath. The servitors here are very helpful. The arrangements at the Jagannath Temple are up to the mark too. I want to congratulate the Temple management for the same,” he added.
Asked about the 2024 elections, Das said, “I am in a constitutional position right now, so I cannot really comment anything on politics. Being the Governor of Odisha, my priority would be to serve the people of the State.”
“Lord Jagannath has brought me to Odisha to serve the people. I want to assure you that the doors of Raj Bhavan will remain open for the people of Odisha all the time,” Das said.
