Rain fury: Wooden bridge washes away in Gajapati's Mohana; 3 villages cut off

Wooden Bridge Gets Washed Away In Mohana

A temporary wooden bridge over Harbhangi river in Mohana was washed away after incessant rainfall swelled the river in Gajapati district. As a result, people of three villages are now cut-off from rest of the world as the bridge was the only means for communication by road.

The wooden bridge at Nimbad village under Gardama panchayat used to act as a lifeline for the residents of three villages including Matakupa and Napakeju. Sources said that the bridge got washed after rise in the water level of Harbhangi river following heavy rainfall activities.
