A student of a hotel management college in Bhubaneswar on Sunday accused his seniors of ragging and filed a complaint in this regard at Saheed Nagar Police Station.
Acting on the complaint, the Commissionerate police has started an investigation.
Reportedly, two students have sustained injuries in the alleged raging followed by an attack by four senior students of the institution.
Reports said, four junior students of the management college were ragged and attacked by 3rd year students in their hostel room at around 11.30 pm on Saturday.
The victim student alleged in his complaint that the senior students called him and others to a room and not only ragged them but also attacked them with iron rods and blunt objects.
Following the attack, two of them sustained injuries in their ears and they were subsequently admitted to Capital Hospital.
In their complaint, the family members of the injured students alleged that some seniors also threatened the juniors with life if the latter took up the issue with the college authorities.
Taking serious note of the alleged ragging, Saheed Nagar police has started an investigation into the incident.
