The Patitapaban temple near Singhadwar (Lion’s Gate) at Lord Jagannath temple in Puri will be silver-plated, the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) informed on Thursday.

As per the project plans, the silver cladding will include the frame of the Patitapaban Gumuta gate, Ratna Palanka (precious stone-studded bed) of the Lord, door frame of Lokanath temple near Bhandara Ghara (storeroom). The servitors have reportedly been shown the designs.

An elaborate discussion was held in this regard in the previous meeting of the temple managing committee. The process of silver-plating will begin shortly, the SJTA said.

Worth mentioning, the front gate of Ratna Bhandar in Puri Srimandir is likely to be gold-plated. A decision in this regard was previously taken in a meeting of the temple management committee.
