This decision was taken in a recent meeting of the Ratna Bhandar Subcommittee, chaired by the Chief Administrator.
The shifting will begin at 4.00 AM with a special ritual called Dwarafita, and the transfer will occur during the Amrut Bela (auspicious time). If, for any reason, the transfer cannot be completed on the 23rd, it will take place the following day, on September 24.
To ensure smooth execution, public darshan will be restricted on September 23 during the transfer process. Once the ornaments are placed in the original Ratna Bhandar, the doors will be sealed in the presence of a Magistrate, and the keys will be submitted to the district treasury.
The operation will be supervised and verified against the official inventory list of 1978. Any decisions regarding inventory counting and valuation of the ornaments (Ganati Manati) will be taken by the managing committee.
“Ratna Bhandar sub-committee has been constituted based on a decision of the managing committee. A key meeting of the Ratna Bhandar sub-committee was held today. Several key issues were discussed in the meeting,” SJTA Chief Administrator, Arabinda Padhee, said.
“As you know, repair works of both Bahara (outer) Ratna Bhandar and Bhitara (inner) Ratna Bhandar have been completed in the meantime by the ASI (Archaeological Survey of India). Ornaments of the Lords of Bhitara Ratna Bhandar are now in Khata-seja Ghara (a designated temporary treasury). Similarly, the ornaments of Bahara Ratna Bhandar are now in Changda Ghara and Phula Ghara. All the sacred valuables will be shifted to the original Ratna Bhandar,” the SJTA Chief Administrator stated while briefing to mediapersons.
