Amid rising public sensitivity and potential unrest following the death of the Puri Balanga burn victim, the Odisha administration has sealed the roads leading to the residences of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and the two Deputy Chief Ministers in Bhubaneswar.

Security has been significantly heightened around these high-profile quarters as a precautionary measure. Police forces have been strategically deployed in and around the VIP residential zone, and public movement has been restricted in specific stretches to ensure law and order.

Simultaneously, in Balanga, the security presence outside the Puri victim's house has been considerably increased. Local authorities fear that tensions in the area could escalate, especially as public emotions run high after the girl's demise at AIIMS Delhi, where she had been under treatment for burn injuries.

Additional police personnel have been stationed near the residence to prevent any untoward incident and to maintain peace. The police have also urged the public and media to act with restraint and sensitivity in light of the tragic circumstances.

Officials say these steps are part of preventive security protocols aimed at ensuring both administrative stability and the safety of all stakeholders involved.

On the other hand, Odisha Police claimed that there is no evidence indicating the involvement of any other individual in the incident.

In an official statement on X, Odisha Police conveyed, “We are deeply saddened by the demise of the girl involved in the Balanga incident. The investigation into the matter has been conducted with utmost sincerity and is now in its final stage.”

The statement further clarified that based on the investigation carried out so far, no evidence has been found indicating the involvement of any other individual in the incident.

“We humbly request everyone to maintain sensitivity and refrain from sharing or reacting to any unconfirmed claims while the case proceeds through its final legal steps,” the statement added.

The 16-year-old burn victim from Balanga in Puri district of Odisha, who was battling for her life, passed away at AIIMS Delhi on Saturday. The victim had suffered over 75% burn injuries and was on ventilator support for several days.
