In an emotional statement following the tragic death of his daughter, the father of the Puri Balanga minor burn victim revealed that his daughter ‘ended her life due to mental distress.’
Through a video message, the victim’s father said, “I have lost my daughter. She ended her life due to mental stress. The trauma she faced was unbearable.”
The grieving father also made a heartfelt appeal to the public and political leaders: “All I want to say is that the Odisha government has done a lot for me and my family. I humbly request that everyone please do not politicize this tragedy. Instead, pray for her soul.”
He concluded by saying, “All I want now is peace for my daughter. Please pray for her soul to rest in peace (RIP).”
The father’s message comes at a time when the incident has sparked widespread outrage, protests, and political commentary across Odisha. His plea highlights the need for sensitivity, dignity, and unity in the face of personal loss and public emotion.
