According to sources, the body of the Balanga-based minor girl, who passed away on Saturday in New Delhi AIIMS under distressing conditions, is expected to reach her home State today following completion of post-mortem and other formalities at the health facility. The body will be transported once all official procedures are completed.
Meanwhile, preparations for the deceased girl’s funeral rites are being made in her native village in Puri district. The family, deeply shaken by the incident, has chosen not to blame anyone for the unfortunate death.
“We do not wish to blame anyone. Our daughter was not destined to live with us,” said a family member in a tearful statement. “We are in deep depression after her passing. This is not the time for any politics,” they added, emphasising their trust in the State government and doctors involved in the case.
Medical authorities at AIIMS New Delhi are conducting the post-mortem. Once complete, arrangements will be made to shift the deceased back to Odisha. After the post-mortem is over, the body will be handed over to the girl’s family.
The Residential Commissioner of the State government in New Delhi is monitoring the transportation process. “Around 8.00 to 9.00 PM, the body will be sent to Odisha,” the Commissioner said.
