Demanding a CBI investigation into the murder of Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati, members of various Sanatani organizations gathered together to stage a protest in Bhubaneswar.

According to reports, protestors carrying flags marched towards the Odisha Assembly on the Mahatma Gandhi Road in Odisha’s capital, Bhubaneswar.

"We demand the police to open the barricades; we are going to march till the fourth barricade and protest in front of the Chief Minister’s house or I will take my own life and you all will be the witnesses. It has been 70 days since the new government has taken charge but why no CBI probe has been ordered? We demand a written confirmation that a CBI enquiry will be conducted,” said one protestor.

“Odisha is a peace-loving State and Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati was a saint. He was working for the welfare of the neglected, ignored, and exploited tribals, but people from a certain community were jealous of him and created many obstacles for him, ultimately killing him. Till date we have not been served justice and the actual perpetrators have not been punished. Even the previous BJD-led government did not do justice to this case. So, that’s why we are demanding that the current BJP-led government to take action and order a CBI enquiry,” said another protestor.

No comments were received from the concerned government authorities in this regard.
