Proposal for Dhamra and Paradip industrial corridor submitted to Centre: Kendrapara MP Jay Panda

A proposal to develop an industrial corridor linking Dhamra and Paradip with Kendrapara in its centre has been submitted to the Central government, according to BJP National Vice President and Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda.

A proposal to develop an industrial corridor joining Dhamra and Paradip with Kendrapara in the centre of it has been submitted to the Central government, BJP National Vice President and Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda said on the sidelines of BJP’s membership drive at Aul in Kendrapara.

While speaking to journalists, Panda said he is hopeful that the government will soon take a decision. 

Panda also informed that he has written a letter to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw regarding doubling of Haridaspur-Paradip rail line. He said the doubling of the rail line would help increase the capacity of goods and passenger transportation and Kendrapara would become a business hub.

"For this proposed corridor, the capacity of the Haridaspur-Paradip rail line needs to be increased. So I have placed a proposal for the doubling of the Haridaspur-Paradip rail line. It is now in the proposal stage. I hope work will start as soon as the proposal is approved. Its capacity for goods as well as passenger trains will gradually increase,” he said.

“We want to develop Kendrapara into a big hub,” he added.
