The decision on private bus strike across the state will be taken on November 8, announced the Private Bus Owners’ Association on Monday.
While informing about the postponement, the association said that however, there will be a strike in Kalahandi and nearby nine districts on November 1 if the LAccMI bus service is launched from block to district headquarters.
With the government set to launch the 'Location Accessible Multi-modal Initiative' (LAccMI) bus service in Bhawanipatna on November 1, the association has decided to go with its strike in the nearby ten districts on the same day.
The association also said that the November 1 strike would be cancelled if the government makes an announcement that no LAccMi bus would roll from the block to the district headquarters. The association further informed that no private bus will be made available for the use of political meetings.
Informing about the decision, the association secretary, Debendra Sahu said, “The government is going to launch the LAccMI bus service from Bhawanipatna. If on that day any LAccMI bus runs from the block to the district headquarters, there would be a strike in Bhawanipatna and nearby districts. Since we are not getting support, we have decided that no bus will be made available for political meetings. We have put our decision regarding the state-wide strike on hold till November 8.”
