President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to arrive in Odisha on a two-day official tour. Her itinerary includes attending the 5th convocation of AIIMS-Bhubaneswar tomorrow and the 13th convocation of Ravenshaw University in Cuttack on July 15. This was informed by official sources on Sunday.

On the evening of her arrival, the President will grace the convocation ceremony at AIIMS, Bhubaneswar. The following day, she will participate in Ravenshaw University’s convocation event, where she will confer degrees upon meritorious students and honour distinguished individuals with special awards.
Security arrangements have reached their final stage ahead of the high-profile visit.
According to the Commissionerate Police, a full-scale security rehearsal including a carcade drill has already been conducted. DCP-level sources have confirmed that 70 platoons of police force along with 300 officers will be deployed to ensure the President’s safety.
The twin events are expected to witness the presence of top academic, administrative, and political dignitaries, with all departments on alert for smooth coordination. The President’s visit is also seen as a moment of pride for Odisha, as she hails from the State.
“Arrangements are in place for the visit of President Murmu. More than 50 platoons of force will be deployed and around 20 platoons are to be deployed locally. Carcade arrangement is also there as per the programme,” Cuttack DCP, Khilari Rishikesh Dnyandeo, stated.
“As per the programme, necessary arrangements have been made at six locations in Cuttack,” the DCP added.
