Keeping the law and order situation in mind ahead of Ram Navami, the Balasore Police conducted a flag march in the town on Monday.
The flag march in which Central para-military forces also participated, was led by the Balasore SP, Sagarika Nath.
Apart from the march, the district administration has also called a Peace Committee meeting on March 22 inviting all the stakeholders in the Ram Navami celebrations and representatives from all the communities.
Speaking about the flag march, SP Sagarika Nath said, “An RAF team along with the district police have jointly conducted the flag march. The Ram Navami is round the corner. So we have identified all the sensitive pockets in the town through which the procession will move.”
“The RAF team will stay with us at Balasore for the week. They will conduct familiarisation exercises during their stay. We expect the festival to be uneventful and will be conducted without any issues,” she said.
Ram Navami, which marks the birth of Lord Rama, will be observed on Thursday, March 30, this year. The auspicious festival of Ram Navami coincides with the last day of Chaitra Navratri, an auspicious nine-day festival that will start next week.
