The carcass of an elephant in Dasapalla forest

In what could be a cause for grave concern for the Forest department and wildlife lovers, an elephant was allegedly poached for its tusks in the Baisipalli forest under the Dasapalla range of Nayagarh district.

As per reports, it is suspected that poachers hunted the tusker by laying electric wires and later cut off its tusks after its death.
