Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Odisha today and will attend a public event at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar, marking the first anniversary of the Mohan Majhi-led BJP government in the state.
Ahead of his visit, PM Modi posted on the social media platform X, mentioning that he will attend programs in Odisha, Bihar, and Andhra Pradesh over the next two days.
In his post, the Prime Minister Modi wrote that he will join a special program in Bhubaneswar celebrating one year of the BJP government in Odisha. Highlighting various pro-people initiatives taken during the past year for the holistic development of the people of Odisha, he emphasised the Centre’s and state’s commitment to progress.
Mega Projects To Be Launched
During today’s event, PM Modi will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for projects worth nearly Rs 19,000 crore. These include the launch of a new railway service connecting Odisha’s Boudh district for the first time, symbolizing expanded rail connectivity. He will also inaugurate 100 electric buses under CRUT (Capital Region Urban Transport).
Keeping in view the centenary of Odisha's statehood in 2036 and 100 years of India’s Independence in 2047, PM Modi will unveil the "Odisha Vision Document."
As a tribute to the contributions of Odias, PM Modi will also launch the ‘Baraputra Itihasika Grama Yojana’. He will also felicitate beneficiaries of the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ scheme, symbolising the state’s journey towards prosperity and self-reliance.
Tight Security Arrangements in Bhubaneswar
Elaborate security arrangements have been put in place in the state capital of Bhubaneswar for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit. A total of 133 platoons of police force, along with over 500 police officers, personnel from the Central Armed Police Forces, and independent agencies, have been deployed for security.
Extensive measures have been implemented for traffic regulation, anti-sabotage checks, and crowd control from the airport to Janata Maidan. Considering the possibility of rainfall, fire services and ODRAF (Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force) teams have also been deployed.
