Plus 2 girl attempts suicide by jumping from college building over 'love'

A Plus II student at Nayagarh's Prajamandal Women’s University attempted suicide by jumping from her hostel's third floor, surviving with serious injuries. The incident, suspected to be over a love relationship, is under investigation.

A Plus II girl student of Nayagarh’s Prajamandal Mahila Mahavidyalaya attempted suicide by jumping from the third floor of her hostel building. Fortunately, she survived but has suffered serious injuries and is battling for her life. The incident came to light when the college authorities informed the local police of the matter.

According to sources, it was a normal day at the college when the girl allegedly went to the third floor of the building and jumped from there. Fellow students and faculty members who were present at the spot immediately rescued her and rushed her to the Nayagarh District HQ Hospital.

Meanwhile, the college authorities informed the girl’s family about the incident. Following this, the girl’s family rushed to the hospital.

The Nayagarh Town Police reached the incident site upon receiving information and have launched an investigation. However, no concrete reason has been established so far as to why did she take the drastic action. However, it is suspected that the girl might have tried to kill herself due to matters related to a love relationship.
