The Commissionerate Police is trying to collect pieces of evidence in connection with the case involving a pharmacist who with the help of his two girlfriends allegedly murdered his wife by administering excess anesthesia in Bharatpur area in Bhubaneswar.
The pharmacist and his two girlfriends, who work as nurses at a private hospital allegedly administered anesthesia to his wife on October 27, causing her death.
As per sources, the Commissionerate Police has moved the court seeking permission for a three-day remand of the main accused- husband Pradyumna Kumar.
Moreover, it has been learnt that the crime scene will be recreated by the accused during the remand period.
Meanwhile, the syringe used in the crime, anesthesia medicines and the mobile phone of the accused have been sent to the state forensic laboratory for testing.
“We have sought permission from the court to take the main accused on a three-day remand. We will recreate the crime scene after bringing him in remand,” said Bhubaneswar DCP Pinak Mishra.
“We will also investigate from where he procured the anesthesia and who are involved in the crime,” he added.
Notably, following her death, the accused rushed her wife to Capital Hospital and tried to give it a suicide angle. Acting on the medico-legal case received from Capital Hospital, the police had registered a case of unnatural death. However, the post-mortem report and subsequent investigation by the scientific team revealed that the death was caused due to administration of excessive anesthesia.
