Ahead of the inauguration of the ‘Srimandir Parikrama Prakalpa’ (Srimandir Heritage Corridor Project) in Puri, Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb on Friday performed the ‘Acharyabaran Niti’ in his palace.
The pilgrim city has come to life for the upcoming inauguration ceremony of the ‘Srimandir Parikrama Prakalpa’. As a part of this celebration, ‘Mangalaropana’ ritual was performed today. Thereafter, Gajapati Maharaja today performed ‘Gua Teka’ niti before welcoming priests in ‘Acharyabaran Niti’ for Yajna.

After completion of the rituals in the palace, ‘Ankuraropana’ ritual is underway.
In his reaction, the Puri king said the ‘Srimandir Parikrama Prakalpa’ is a good project taken up by the administration.
“From the very beginning it was decided that the mutts and temples would neither be removed nor destroyed. The government has stuck to it. As the buildings around the Srimandir were pulled down, these temples are visible now. Earlier, they were in a dilapidated state tucked away among the buildings. Now, they have been repaired. Some ornamental works are underway. Before January 17, everything will be ready and looking beautiful,” said the Puri King.
“All the constructions were removed from within the 75-meter perimeter of Srimandir. Srimandir Prakalpa is necessary for the safety of Srimandir and other temples. Earlier, garbage was dumped near the Meghanada Pacheri (boundary wall) of Srimandir. It will no longer happen,” he added.
