Over 34.98 lakh farmers from Odisha benefit from PM-KISAN scheme
In a significant development for the agricultural community, over 34.98 lakh farmers from Odisha have been included in the prestigious PM-KISAN Yojana. This was informed by the State Agriculture Secretary Arabinda Padhee.
“Farmers in Odisha are increasingly joining the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, as recent efforts have led to a significant rise in participation,” Padhee stated during the distribution of the 19th installment of the PM-KISAN scheme by PM Modi.
Rise in Number of Beneficiaries:
The Agriculture Secretary also highlighted a notable increase of over 3.43 lakh farmers compared to last year’s disbursement.
“At least 34, 98, 147 farmers from Odisha benefitted from the PM-KISAN scheme this year. There is an additional increase of 3,43,447 beneficiaries this year, as compared to the previous year,” Padhee informed.
This surge in the number of farmers has been attributed to a special drive to enroll farmers who were rejected or left out due to various reasons last year. More farmers can now register through the authorised portal, to avail of the benefit, Padhee added.
Application Process Open Through Portal:
To ensure no farmer is left behind, those still not included in the scheme have been encouraged to submit their applications through the established portal. This move is part of the government's ongoing efforts to support farmers financially and boost the agriculture sector.
This initiative by PM Modi aims to ensure inclusive support for farmers across the state, enhancing their livelihood and improving agricultural productivity. The PM-KISAN scheme, which provides direct financial support to farmers, has been crucial for enhancing the livelihoods of small and marginal farmers across India. This renewed focus on inclusion in Odisha reportedly aims to strengthen rural communities and enhance economic stability in the village level.
