Aspirants of the OSSSC recruitment examination have protested over alleged irregularities and a paper leak, seeking President Droupadi Murmu's intervention. They accuse OSSSC of jeopardising their future due to mismanagement in the CRE-II and CRE-IV 2024 exams conducted by SIFY Technologies, previously blacklisted for similar issues.

Resentment continued to brew high among OSSSC aspirants over the alleged paper leak and large-scale irregularities in the recently concluded computer-based recruitment examination of RI/ARI/Amin/ICDS Supervisors/SFSs.

Irate aspirants, after days of protest, sought the intervention of President Droupadi Murmu on Saturday and demanded a ‘foolproof recruitment examination system’. Seeking her immediate intervention in the matter, dozens of aspirants flocked to a post office in Cuttack and wrote letters to the President.

The post office in Link Road, Cuttack was flooded with aspirants who accused the Odisha Sub-ordinate Staff Selection Commission (OSSSC) of playing with the future of lakhs of youths. The students have alleged that there were large-scale irregularities in the recently concluded prestigious Computer Based Recruitment Examination of CRE-II of 2024 exam for LI/Forester/Forest Guard and CRE-IV of 2024 exam for RI/ARI/Amin/ICDS Supervisors/SFSs.

As per the allegations, the exams were held at cybercafes, mandaps, and market complexes. Moreover, the exams were conducted by a Tamil Nadu-based private company named SIFY Technologies which was blacklisted by the central government in 2022 in a paper leak case.

Meanwhile, the BJP government addressed the reports of paper leaks and stated that the government would not imperil the future of thousands of aspirants. Addressing the issue, the government through a press release assured that it is committed to protecting students’ rights and conducting a transparent examination.

However, there have been no reports if there would be a re-examination.
