“Rai Damodar Brata has started for the habisyalis in Puri this year like every year. Accommodation facilities have been made at four places for more than 3,000 habisyalis. Under the direct supervision of the Culture Department, administrative officials have made proper arrangements for it,” said Parida.

“The government has already directed the administrative officials to make necessary arrangements considering the huge rush of habisyalis. If any kind of mistake will be found, it will be solved immediately. Let their wishes be fulfilled with Lord Jagannath’s blessings. The government will feel blessed by serving the habisyali mothers,” she added.

Notably, scores of non-registered habisyalis had staged a protest in front of Brundabati Niwas in pilgrim town Puri on Thursday after they were allegedly denied entry into the premises of the building.
