The Health and Family Welfare department has urged the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) to initiate the recruitment of 7,276 doctors in Class-A posts.
“To improve healthcare services in Odisha, Commissioner-cum-Secy, @HFWOdisha,has requested OPSC to start the process for recruitment of 7,276 doctors in Class-A posts,” Health & Family Welfare Department Odisha says in a tweet.
According to the break-up of the posts issued by the department, out of 7,276 posts, 2,500 are for unreserved candidates, while, 714 are reserved for SEBC, 1,597 for SC and 2,465 for ST candidates.
In a letter to the OPSC on Monday, the Health & Family Welfare Department stated, “The above vacancies are required to be filled up on regular basis on the recommendation of the Odisha Public Service Commission as per the provisions of Odisha Medical & Health Services Rule, 2017, Odisha Medical & Health Services Amendment, GA & PG Department Notification on February 22, 2021 and under OMHS Cadre Rules, 2017, on one time basis.”
“The qualifying marks will be decided by the OPSC while recommending the required number of doctors,” the letter further read.
The Odisha government has recently created 5000 posts of Leave Training Reserve Medical Officer) in the rank of Group-A (Junior Branch) of Odisha Medical & Health Services (OMHS) Cadre.
The selected LTRMO will be appointed at different Districts Headquarters Hospitals (DHHs), Sub-Divisional Hospitals, Community Health Centres (CHC), Urban Community Health Centres (UCHCs), Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar and Rourkela Government Hospital.
