Ambika Bhuyan was ecstatic after achieving 21st rank in her first attempt at the Odisha Civil Services Examination-2022, the results of which were announced by the Odisha Public Service Commission on Saturday.

According to Ambika, hard work and patience were the keys to her success.

“The aspirants should have patience. The process is very long and aspirants often break down while preparing for the examination. They should take little breaks and start again after bolstering their confidence level by speaking with near and dear ones. Reading nearly six to seven hours each day throughout the year will really help,” said Ambika.

Twenty five-year-old Ambika prepared for the Odisha Civil Services Examination after completing post graduation and cracked the examination in her first attempt.

“I had meticulously planned before preparing for the examination. The strategy might have worked for me. I was optimistic about a good result. However, I was not sure to get such a good rank. I am very much happy for the result,” said Ambika.

Ambika gave credit to her father, mother and brother for her success.

“All the family members especially my father and brother supported me a lot during the course of my preparation. I panicked; however, my brother called me this morning and told me not to be bothered about the result. I feel that family support really gives a lot of confidence. When I saw the result, I gave my first call to my father and brother. My father was in tears after hearing the result from me. I was really ecstatic to see the reaction of my father,” said Ambika.

“My personal preference is towards health and education. I think health and education are the real strengths of any nation. If our youth will be healthy and educated, our nation will progress. I will be happy to get any kind of opportunity to work in these fields,” she added.
