Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi on Saturday strongly criticised the previous BJD government in the state by stating that it operated only on slogans.

While addressing a mega gathering during release of second instalment of Subhadra Yojana in Berhampur organised on the occasion of International Women’s Day, CM Majhi pointed out that in 24 years, the former Naveen Patnaik government remained confined to slogans, while in just nine months, his government has reached out to one crore women.

A Humorous Retort to Critics 

Reflecting on his government's success, Chief Minister Mohan Majhi further stated that critics are unable to digest the success of his government and remarked that the opposition needs a "digestive pill" to accept reality.

Pro-People Welfare Schemes

Odisha CM Mohan Majhi further accused the previous government of failing to understand the plights of the poor, which is why his administration introduced the Mukhyamantri Kanya Ratna Yojana. Additionally, recognizing people's aspirations to visit Puri for Lord Jagannath's darshan, the new Odisha government launched the Shree Jagannath Darshan Yojana.

Sharp Criticism of the Past Administration

Odisha CM Mohan Majhi also took a dig at the 5T governance model of the previous administration, stating that it failed to address people's needs. Calling the past regime an ‘event management government,’ CM Mohan Majhi emphasized that his government is committed to real change.

Future Vision for Women Empowerment

According to Odisha CM Mohan Majhi, the Subhadra Yojana has now transformed into Subhadra Revolution and set an ambitious goal to create 25 lakh "Lakhpati Didis" by 2027. Reaffirming a strong stance against violence towards women, he assured that perpetrators will be jailed with no tolerance for such crimes.
