Odisha BJP President Manmohan Samal questioned how the rackets could run for so many days in the State without the involvement of BJD leaders.

Samal demanded a CBI probe into the racket. The saffron party leader also sought strong action against the culprits who have played with the career of so many meritorious students in the State.

“BJP demands CBI inquiry into the fake certificate rackets surfacing across the State. There should be a thorough probe into the incident and exemplary action should be taken against the culprits who have played with the future of many meritorious students,” said Samal.

“The Government is acting blind, deaf and dumb in the entire situation. Whoever is behind the fake certificates rackets, they are not above the law. Stern action should be taken against them following the investigation,” he added.

Opposition Congress also demanded a CBI probe into the incident.

“A CBI probe will reveal the truth behind the fake certificate rackets across Odisha. I urge the Chief Minister to order a CBI probe soon to reveal the kingpin and other culprits behind the racket, how many certificates have been sold and how much money has been transacted,” said senior Congress leader Sura Routray.

However, BJD refuted the allegations and demands put forth by the Opposition parties.

“Odisha police have already proved their skill. The Opposition parties should keep patience rather than bring allegations. The investigation is being carried out in the right manner. The truth will be revealed and the culprits will be punished,” said government chief whip Prasant Muduli.
