In a significant breakthrough under ‘Operation Prahar’, Binka police seized one quintal of ganja from a vehicle without a registration number on Sunday. Along with the vehicle, a bike bearing registration OD15 AB-3875, and three individuals were taken into police custody.
As per reports, a vehicle without a number plate was moving at high speed near Binka police station in Sonepur district. Police pursued the vehicle and intercepted it near Belpara Chowk in the town. At the time, the bike rider escorting the vehicle managed to flee. Authorities have launched a detailed investigation into the incident.
Previous Seizures and Official Oversight
Earlier, on September 6, police had also seized two quintals of ganja from another vehicle near Nuabazar in Binka town.

Following Sunday night’s operation, Sonepur district Superintendent of Police Narayan Nayak visited the spot to assess the situation. In the presence of Magistrate Dayaram Meher, the ganja was removed from the vehicle and formally seized.
Ongoing Investigation
Police continue to investigate the matter, including tracking the absconding bike rider, and are reviewing the details of the arrested individuals.
The operation highlights the growing efforts of Binka and Sonepur authorities to curb illegal drug transport in the district.
