In an unprecedented scene that unfolded at the office of the Jajpur CDMO, a woman reportedly tired of running pillar to post for a death certificate of her father sat near the district Collector’s vehicle on Friday to protest the delay.
As per reports, Deeptimayee Padhee, a resident of the Madhuban area, has reportedly been doing rounds of the Madhuban health centre to get her father’s death certificate. However, she is yet to receive the certificate.
With no option left, she came to the CDMO’s office to lodge a complaint. Reaching there, she came to know that Collector Nikhil Pawan Kalyan was in a meeting in the same office.
To get her complaint heard, she decided to sit near the Collector’s vehicle.
“My father Raj Kishore Kar, a freedom fighter, passed away in 2004. Now, they are asking me to produce his AADHAAR card to get his death certificate. From where I can get his AADHAAR card?,” rued Deeptimayee.
When contacted, the additional district medical officer (ADMO) said after coming to know about the complainant’s plight, the Collector has issued directions to address her issue.
“Today we received her complaint. We will solve her problem within seven days. This apart, we will initiate a probe and if anyone is found guilty of harassing her, necessary action will be taken,” said Suddhanshu Bal, ADMO, Jajpur.
