G Udayagiri recorded season’s lowest temperature
G Udayagiri in Odisha's Kandhamal district recorded the season’s lowest temperature of 6.2 degree Celsius on Thursday.
While Phulbani witnessed 8.5 degree Celsius, Daringbadi, which is considered as Kashmir of Odisha, experienced chilling weather with 10 degree Celsius.
Meanwhile, the district witnessed biting cold combined with the foggy environment with the temperature falling below 10 degree Celsius.
As per reports, the district has been witnessing temperature below 10 degree Celsius since November 17. The district’s unprecedented dip in temperature below 10°C triggered a surge in demand for winter wear among locals.

Meanwhile, as per the forecast by the Bhubaneswar regional center of India Meteorological Department (IMD), some places in Odisha may witness a slight rise in mercury temporarily owing to a depression in the Bay of Bengal. The temperature may rise by two to four degree Celsius for the subsequent three days.
As per the prediction by IMD, several parts of the State are likely to experience light to moderate rainfall in the coming days. Cuttack and Bhubaneswar may experience partly cloudy sky today with one or two spells of rain or thundershower today.
Shallow to moderate fog are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundergarh, Keonjhar, Kandhamal and Kalahandi during the night and early morning hours for the next two days.
