BJP National Vice-President and Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda participated in a membership drive of the party in Bolangir on Sunday.
The senior saffron party leader took part in a door-to-door campaign at Dhumamara village under Bolangir Sadar block as a part of the membership drive.
Panda sensitised people on how to become members of the BJP through mobile phones. He also put up stickers on the houses of people.
Earlier, Dhumamara villagers welcome the senior BJP leader in a traditional manner.
Following the completion of the membership drive, Panda attended a programme held on the occasion of Prime Minister's 'Mann Ki Baat' at the party's Patharachepa office as the chief guest.
Later, he attended a meeting of party workers. While addressing. he said Odisha will witness massive development in future due to the double-engine government in the State.
“I joined the membership drive of the world’s largest political party in Bolangir. We also did a review. Senior leaders of the party including the Deputy Chief Minister, senior MP, district BJP president and others also joined the membership drive with us,” said Panda.
“We made a door-to-door campaign and found that people are very much interested in joining BJP. Our ‘Jasaswi’ Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the most popular leader in the world. India has made a huge progress under his leadership. Double-engine government has been formed in Odisha. People are encouraged to see the pace of the work undertaken by the State government under the leadership of Mohan Majhi and other Deputy Chief Ministers. Some schemes have been implemented so far and in the coming days other schemes will also be implemented,” he added.
