Odisha Vigilance, on Thursday, uncovered a significant cache of assets allegedly amassed beyond known sources of income during ongoing simultaneous raids at six locations linked to Dileswar Majhi, Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) of the Titlagarh R&B Sub-Division under the Kantabanji R&B Division, Bolangir.

Raids Spanning Three Districts

The coordinated search operation was launched on Thursday morning based on a warrant issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Bolangir. A Vigilance team comprising 5 Deputy Superintendents of Police, 8 Inspectors, 2 Assistant Sub-Inspectors, and supporting staff carried out the raids.

The six premises under scrutiny span Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, and Bolangir districts:

  • A double-storeyed residential building at Unit-16, Sarla, Sambalpur, which houses a beauty parlour operated by Majhi’s spouse.

  • Another double-storeyed residence at Gandaghora Mouza, Brajarajnagar Unit-II, Jharsuguda.

  • A market complex with four shops at Gandaghora, Nuadihi, Brajarajnagar Unit-II, Jharsuguda.

  • Two housing board quarters at Lahandabud, Jharsuguda.

  • His office chamber at the R&B Division, Kantabanji, Bolangir.

  • His government quarter at Titlagarh, Bolangir.

Multiple Properties and Valuables Unearthed

During the ongoing searches, Vigilance officials have so far unearthed:

  • Four major buildings, including the above-mentioned properties in Sambalpur and Jharsuguda.

  • One market complex covering approximately 900 sq ft.

  • Nine high-value plots, located across:

  1. Sambalpur (1),

  2. Brajarajnagar (1),

  3. Outskirts of Sambalpur (6),

  4. Badmal, Jharsuguda (1).

The Vigilance Technical Wing is carrying out measurement and valuation of these immovable assets.

In addition to property holdings, officials have recovered:

  • Rs 6.57 lakh in cash

  • Approximately 300 grams of gold

  • Bank deposits worth Rs 20 lakh, along with other financial instruments and investments, are under verification.

  • One four-wheeler (Swift Dzire) and two two-wheelers

Investigation in Progress

Vigilance sources confirmed that documentation, cash, valuables, and transaction records are being thoroughly examined. The raids were launched following preliminary inputs suggesting the accumulation of disproportionate assets.

As of the latest update, searches are still continuing. The Vigilance Directorate is expected to issue a detailed press note once the full inventory is documented and asset valuations are complete.
