After the inquiry report of the Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) pointed out that the deadly train mishap at Bahanaga station in Balasore had occurred due to lapses in the signaling-circuit-alteration, the Odisha unit of Congress alleged that the real truth behind the cause of the accident has been suppressed.
Congress MLA Santosh Singh Saluja claimed that all the officials including the Railway Minister had stated after the accident that it was a conspiracy. However, to suppress the truth behind the conspiracy, the cause behind the accident has been attributed to lapse in signalling and the station master has been made responsible for all the faults.
Saluja also slammed the Railway Department for allegedly failing completely to provide safety and security to the passengers.
"To divert the attention from the real fact, a CBI investigation was ordered. However, eventually, the station master was made responsible for the fault in the inquiry report and everybody will accept it," said Saluja.
Meanwhile, BJD stated that it seemed to be human fault from the very beginning and stern action will be taken against the erring officials.
"From the very beginning, it was clear that the accident happened due to lapses in the signalling. However, it lingered. The CBI investigation report is yet to come. No one could be considered a culprit until the CBI report comes. However, after the final report, stern action will be taken against the persons responsible for the accident as per the provision in law," said BJD MLA Parshuram Dhada.
