Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will sign an agreement (MoU) with the Centre for the implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Jan Arogya Yojana in Odisha during his two-day visit to Delhi, starting today.

The CM will be accompanied by Odisha Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling during the MoU signing ceremony at Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi at 2 pm today.

Earlier, the Health Minister had emphasized the importance of the implementation of the Ayushman Bharat scheme, aiming to provide healthcare to over 3.5 crore people in Odisha, while integrating it with the Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana (GJAY).

“Together, the two schemes will go a long way in improving health conditions in Odisha,” the minister had stated in his address to media persons in December.

Under the combined scheme, men will receive Rs 5 lakh and women Rs 10 lakh in coverage at 30,000 hospitals nationwide. Additionally, beneficiaries will get a single health card to avail of the benefits. Incidentally, the state government has already linked e-KYC data of 1 crore residents to the central database for Ayushman Bharat benefits.
