Odisha students start returning from Jammu amid ongoing unrest

As many as 43 students of Odisha returned to the State from the Central Sanskrit University in Jammu on Saturday in the first phase amidst continuing unrest in the region due to the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan.

The initial group of 43 students made their way back to Odisha on the Sampark Kranti Express.

Further, students are expected to arrive in Odisha in separate phases. In the second phase, four students will return via Neelachal Express. Subsequently, the third phase will see as many as 28 students arriving at around at 1:35 am on the Kalinga Utkal Express.

Lastly, another batch of 28 students will complete their journey in the fourth phase, scheduled to arrive in Odisha around 3:20 am via Purushottam Express.

Meanwhile, Odisha's Home Department is making arrangements to ensure the safe return of some Odia students currently residing in Himachal Pradesh.

It has also been learnt that as many as three girl students of Central Sanskrit University in Jammu from Balasore have returned to Odisha with help from the State government.

As per reports, the varsity sent the students to New Delhi amid the unrest in the region. Subsequently, they reached Balasore with help from the state administration.

The regional Transport Department reportedly made requisite transport arrangements for the students so that they return to their respective homes by buses. As per sources, more students of the university are expected to return Balasore soon.
