Soaked in the festive spirit and religious fervour, thousands of devotees thronged in various temples across Odisha to celebrate the birth of Lord Krishna on the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami on Wednesday.
Elaborate arrangements have been made at various temples across the state including ISKCON temples to mark the special day. Special provision has also been made for the devotees who made a beeline to the temples since early morning today.
In Cuttack, the Janmashtami rituals began with Mangala alati and other rituals. The last 'Besha' will be conducted at midnight. Different types of Bhoga are also being prepared which will be distributed among the devotees after being offered to the deity.
In Bhubaneswar also, a huge rush of devotees was observed at various Krishna temples in the city. Scenes were also not different at ISKCON.
Special rituals will also be conducted at Puri Sri Jagannath Temple on the auspicious Janmashtami. The birth rituals of Lord Krishna will be performed after Sandhya Dhupa today.
