Odisha wears a vibrant look on Wednesday as residents across the State are celebrating Holi with enthusiasm and fervour from early morning. The famous festival is being observed with traditional fervor in every nook and corner of the State.
The colour of Holi is being spread across the State and Odisha is bathing in the colors of spring. People from all areas are celebrating Holi and greeting each other with colors.
The festival of color is celebrated by all irrespective of faith. It is the festival of the common man as much as it is a festival for tourists, stars and jawans of the army.
The air at the ‘Melana’ grounds is filled with ‘Abeer’, the Holi colour of different shades. The beautifully decorated ‘Vimans’, carrying the idols of Radha and Krishna are seen taking rounds of villages across the State. Amid the beating of cymbals and gongs in unison and firecrackers, the ‘Vimans’ are then brought to the Melana ground at various places much to the delight of thousands of devotees.
Holi is the festival of colors. For centuries, this is the one festival that has been uniting people of all classes, castes, age groups, and generations. Everyone comes together and celebrates the oneness of humanity, and that is the message of Holi.
