Searing heat wave conditions prevailed in Odisha making life miserable on Tuesday with the mercury touching 41 degree Celsius and more in as many as seven places in the State.
Similarly, Angul and Jharsuguda recorded 40.7 degree Celsius and 40.3 degree Celsius respectively.
Besides, Keonjhar, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Hirakud, Phulbani, Sonepur, Paralakhemundi, Rayagada, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, and Khordha recorded maximum day temperatures of 39.5 degree Celsius, 39.5 degree Celsius, 39.2 degree Celsius, 39.6 degree Celsius, 39.1 degree Celsius, 39.7 degree Celsius, 39.4 degree Celsius, 39.2 degree Celsius, 39.4 degree Celsius and 39.2 degree Celsius, respectively.
The Twin Cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar experienced a maximum daytime temperature of 38.4 degree Celsius and 37.2 degree Celsius respectively.
Earlier, IMD had predicted that the heat wave conditions would be intense during April and the surge in temperature may break all time records during the period. The duration of heat wave conditions will be longer during April this year.
