Odisha Shocker! 2 youths assault ‘friend’, throw him in river over petty fight

In a shocking incident, a youth was allegedly assaulted and subsequently thrown into a river by his ‘friends’ over a petty fight. The youth has been missing since then and efforts are on to trace him in the river. The bone-chilling incident has been reported from a village under Nikirai police limits in Odisha’s Kendrapara district. The victim has been identified as Mantu Mallick.

According to sources, Mantu had some differences with the two youths from Bori area in Kendrapara. The reason for their fight is yet to be known. In a fit of revenge, the two youths assaulted Mantu and later took him to Indupur Bridge from where they threw him into the river.

The whole incident has been caught in a CCTV camera installed in the area. The video shows the two youths assaulting Mantu before throwing him into the river from the bridge.

Based on the CCTV footage, police registered a case and launched a search operation to find Mantu who is yet to be traceable. 
Further probe into the incident is on, police said.
