Odisha schools to enforce Covid-19 precautions amid rising case

Odisha School and Mass Education Department has expressed concern over the rising number of Covid-19 cases in the State.

The Minister of School and Mass Education, Nityananda Gond, on Thursday stated that awareness will be spread among the school teachers about Covid-19. Moreover, the educational institutions across the State will be urged to enforce preventive measures when they reopen. 

The Department has highlighted the necessity for students showing cold symptoms to wear masks, while those experiencing acute health issues should remain at home.

District education officers are expected to receive further instructions imminently, paving the way for a cautious return to the classroom. Minister Gond further emphasised that the department will strictly adhere to the Covid-19 guidelines laid out by the Health Department.

Minister's Statement

"All the teachers and the students will be asked to undertake precautionary measures about Covid-19 when the schools across the state reopen. Everybody should be careful about the rising Covid-19 cases. Emphasis will be given to it as life is the most valuable thing," said School and Mass Education Nityananda Gond.

"It is most important for the students to be careful about Covid-19 when the schools reopen. We will take up the matter seriously. The teachers and the students will be ordered to be careful and alert. Students showing cold symptoms will be asked to come to school by wearing masks. Those experiencing acute health issues will be advised to remain at home. They need to be isolated. We will obey all the Covid-19-related guidelines issued by the Health Department," the Minister added.
