Eminent writer and secretary of Odisha Sahitya Akademi, Prabodh Rout passed away on Tuesday. Rout breathed his last while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Cuttack.
Apart from being an efficient administrator, Rout was also an eminent writer.

Let the departed soul rest in peace. I extend my deepest sympathy to the bereaved family members,” said Cuttack Collector Bhabani Shankar Chayani.
“He contributed a lot for the development of Odisha Sahitya Akademi. He himself was a great writer. He has contributed immensely in every department of Odia literature. He was equally good in English literature. His untimely death has shocked the whole Odia literature fraternity,” said litterateur Sanjit Pattnaik.
