Odisha’s celebrated bodybuilder Santosh Kumar Barjena, who earned fame at several national and international championships, tragically lost his life in a road accident on Tuesday midnight near Daya Bridge, on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar. The mishap occurred when his motorbike collided with a bull lying on the road.
The Fatal Accident
According to eyewitnesses, Santosh was returning home to Nuagaon around 12 AM when his two-wheeler hit a bull resting on the bridge. The force of the collision threw him off his bike, causing severe head injuries. Sadly, he died on the spot before help could arrive.
Police and Medical Response
Police personnel rushed to the site immediately after being alerted by locals. They shifted Santosh to Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar, where doctors declared him brought dead.
A Family’s Noble Gesture
In a heart-warming act of humanity, the grief-stricken family decided to donate Santosh’s eyes, ensuring his legacy would live on by giving the gift of sight to two individuals in need.
