The BJP on Friday seized upon the remark of the BJD that the Odisha Raj Bhawan has turned into a war room for Jharkhand elections, saying the Raj Bhawan shouldn’t be dragged into politics.
State BJP president Manmohan Samal said the entire Odisha is open to do politics, but let Raj Bhawan free from it.
“According to Atal Bihari Bajpayee, he who doesn’t have a big heart can’t do politics. Politics should be done with a magnanimous heart. A politician should be above narrow-mindedness. Politics shouldn’t be done by stooping so low as to say a Chief Minister of another state or a former Vice President of India can’t meet the Governor,” said Samal.
“The entire Odisha is open to do politics. Let the Raj Bhawan out of its purview,” he added.

Notably, BJD Rajya Sabha MPs Sasmit Patra & Sulata Deo had on Thursday alleged that the Raj Bhawan has been turned into the war room for the Jharkhand elections.
They had also alleged that Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Venkaiah Naidu had visited the Governor and stayed in the Raj Bhawan, turning it into a political hub.
However, no reactions were received from the Raj Bhawan on Deo and Patra’s statements.
