Nearly three months after the All India Congress Committee (AICC) dissolved the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) post-election debacle, the new president of the state body of the grand old party will reportedly be announced soon.
As per the party sources, the selection committee of PCC is visiting the State on November 4-5 for this purpose.
OPCC selection committee chairman Charan Das Mahant and his associate Meenakshi Natarajan will hold discussions with the senior, youth and district level leaders of the party in this regard. Subsequently, the committee will submit the report before AICC which will eventually select the president of OPCC.
According to senior Congress leader Jayadev Jena, the name of the new OPCC president will be announced after Kali Puja.
“The OPCC selection committee members will stay in Odisha for two days from November 4-5. They will meet party leaders at different level and hold discussions with them. Subsequently, they will submit a report before the party's high command. Hopefully, the name of the OPCC president will be announced after Kali Puja,” said Jena.
