Odisha Police IIC dismissed from service for corruption

Sushant Satpathy started his career as a constable in 1999 and was later promoted to IIC even though he had several allegations against him between 2012 and 2020, including nexus with bootleggers and deals to set free some accused, while serving in Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, and Rayagada districts.

Boipariguda Police Station IIC Sushant Kumar Satpathy, who was recently arrested by the Vigilance after Rs 37 lakh unaccounted cash was seized from him, was dismissed from service on Saturday on grounds of corruption.  The stern action against the cop was taken by the Director General of Police, who informed about the decision on his official X handle. 

“In consonance with zero tolerance policy of state government towards corruption, @DGPOdisha has dismissed Sri Sushanta Kumar Satpathy, Inspector of Police, @Odisha_Police, from the service under Article311(2)(b) of Indian Constitution following his arrest in a corruption case,” the DGP post read.
