The Odisha government, on Friday, greenlit 19 industrial projects worth Rs 3,898.54 crore, expected to create 7,464 jobs across 11 districts. The approvals, granted during the 136th State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, span sectors like steel, logistics, tourism, and textiles, boosting the state’s appeal as a top investment hub.

Key Investments and Employment

Leading the surge, Tata Steel will inject an additional Rs 700 crore to boost its Dhenkanal plant’s crude steel capacity from 6.5 to 7.1 million tonnes annually, generating 375 jobs.

Sree Metaliks Limited’s Rs 885 crore expansion in Keonjhar will add 950 jobs, whereas Linde India’s Rs 425 crore air separation unit in Jajpur will produce 12 lakh metric tonnes of industrial gases yearly and will employ 100 people.

Logistics gains momentum with ACME Clean Energy’s Rs 366.5 crore jetty-less floating terminal in Ganjam (75 jobs) and Vasanth Vihar’s Rs 134.5 crore logistics park in Khordha (296 jobs). Bhuvaneshwari Foods will invest Rs 300 crore in a Khordha beverages unit, employing 820.

Tourism and Textiles Expand

Six tourism projects, including resorts and 4-star hotels by Birendra Hotels (Rs 105 crore) and Specbru Hotels (Rs 99.86 crore), will infuse over Rs 500 crore and create 1,448 jobs.

Shree Sidhi Vinayak Texcolours’ Rs 100 crore textile unit in Khordha promises 1,070 jobs, while Kalinga Infra’s Rs 60 crore Sambalpur plant will produce crash barriers, employing 314.

Regional Growth Focus

Projects will spread across Angul, Balasore, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Jajpur, Keonjhar, Khordha, Koraput, Sambalpur, and Sundargarh, ensuring equitable development.

Smaller ventures like Shree Jagannath Supply Co’s Rs 51.4 crore agro-facility in Keonjhar (110 jobs) highlight sectoral diversity.
